Using the text boxes provided simply type in the text you wish to search the
database by and click on the 'Search' button on the right of the screen. Please
note that the search facility enables a single field search only. By default
this will be based on the criteria ‘Begins’, but some fields will also allow
‘contains’ or ‘pattern’ searches. 'Contains' searches look for a single string
within a field, "pattern" searches allow multiple strings separated by a space
to be searched.
Example: searching for a vessel name using: ISLA
‘Begins’ search returns vessels such as ISLAND JADE
‘Contains’ will add extra vessels such as BELISLAND
‘Pattern’ search using: IS LA
will add further vessels such as LOUISE HOWLAND
Clicking on the 'Clear' button empties the text boxes and enables you to start
a new search of Internet Ships Register.
There are four main ways of searching Internet Ships Register:
Searching for ships: Use the ‘LR/IMO ship number’, ‘Current Name', 'Ex
Name', ‘Official Number’, ‘MMSI Number’ or ‘Call Sign’ to search for vessels
which meet your search criteria.
Searching for fleets: Fleets can be found by typing your search text into the
‘Group Beneficial Owner’, 'Operator', or 'Shipmanager' boxes located under the
'Ship Search' heading. Ships matching your selection will be displayed.
Searching for companies: To carry out a search for the address, contact and
business details for a particular group beneficial owner, operator or
shipmanager type in your search text into the box under the 'Company Search'
heading and a list of companies and their countries will be displayed.
Searching for shipbuilders: To carry out a search for the address, contact and
business details for a particular shipbuilder type in your search text into the
box under the 'Builder Search' heading and a list of companies and their
countries will be displayed.
For each of the four search options a facility exists to sort the order of the
results. Additionally a facility exists to select how many records you would
like displayed (either 5, 10 or 25)
Ship Results (single vessel): After searching for a particular vessel, a list
of matched ships will be displayed, from which you can either hyperlink to a
more detailed record of the ship by clicking on the ship name, or to the fleet
of the owner by clicking on the company name.
Ship Results (fleet): After searching for a particular company name by using
either ‘Group Beneficial Owner’, ‘Operator’ or ‘Shipmanager’, a list of matched
companies will be displayed, from which you can either hyperlink to a more
detailed record of the ship by clicking on the ship name, or to the fleet of
the owner by clicking on the company name.
Company Results: If a company search has been carried out, a list of matched
companies will be displayed, from which you can click on the company name to
display the address and contact information for a particular company, as well
as the fleet.
Shipbuilder Results: If a builder search has been carried out, a list of
matched companies will be displayed, from which you can click on the builder
name to display the address and contact information for a particular
shipbuilder, as well as the ships they have built or currently building.
This screen is divided into three sections. The top right section displays the
general or main vessel details. The left side of the screen has a number of
buttons that can be used to select which data is displayed in the bottom right
area. If a current group beneficial owner, operator or shipmanager or one of
the shipbuilder's names are clicked, the address, contact and business details
for that company will be displayed.
Using the button provided on the left side of the Ship Details screen,
subscribers to the Internet Ships Register with Internet Market Fixtures can
access recent fixtures information for the selected vessel.
Updated daily, Internet Market Fixtures contains the details of the latest
reported fixtures for both dry and wet cargoes. The database contains fixture
information on vessels that are engaged in the international charter
markets. Fixture history is available within the database. The fixture
information is provided by Maritime Research Inc. from data used in Shipping-Markets.com
If you have carried out a company search or have clicked on one of the
hyperlinks from a ship's details, you will view details held on the Internet
Ships Register database for that particular company. Each company record can
contain an address and contact details for that company.
On the left of the screen are buttons that will enable you to view a list of
fleet details. Pressing the 'Back' button will enable you to return to your
previous screen.
If you click the buttons on the left of this page you will be shown the fleet
list for the company you are currently viewing.
The Fleet Analysis button shows a breakdown of the full fleet and details which
type of ships the company is associated with.
